Tegemea Group is a non-profit organization helping to empower women living in poverty in the Arusha region of Tanzania.  Tegemea Group aims to reduce women’s vulnerability to poverty by providing them with access to small business loans for income-generating activities.  By providing access to working capital and training, Tegemea Group helps mobilize the productive capacity and improve the economic and social equality of disadvantaged women through greater financial independence and security.  Loans provided typically range from $30 to $100 USD.
